What I thought:
A movie that comes to fail and very slightly succeed in a way and here's why. To begin with, the side I hated almost (ALMOST)
more than I hated "XXX", (Fucking piece of shite!)…What the FUCK is up with the disposal of the coolest
anti-hero there was and there will always be?! That's not a way to kill such an excelent character like Pat Bateman! I mean,
how can they do this to Ellis? You heartless pricks! Pat Bateman will be killed by, I dunno, from Perunian flu or something
tasteful! Not a dumb twelve year old! Bad director, BAD, BAD, BAD!!…Ok, I feel better now.
Other thing that was dead wrong on this flick is calling itself "American Psycho" (Uuhh!! She is american and
kills people!) It doesn't reach the ankles of what "American Psycho" really is, this flick could be a stand-up-by-itself
slasher (If you remove the dreadful opening) and that was the biggest stab in the balls the movie delivers, some people might
give shite for this, but not me, American Psycho is pure style, that is mucho missing here. More kicks for the movie include
the tadly miscast main character, an "American Psycho" is not only made by hotso looks, if that were so, Mila would
be perfect! But she lacked a menacing and 'fake' look. In my opinion, Rose McGowan could have fit this perfectly. There is
also the issue of the frustrating and underdeveloped side characters, I didn't care much for any of them, and Bobby annoyed
the shite outta me.
On the stronger side, the movie featured one cool twist near the end I enjoyed and It doesn't get any better than Kunis
showing off her cleavage through the movie. Another thing, the ending I enjoyed (the "One In A Billion" bit was
very neat) and I also enjoyed the narrating (Shameful secret of mine). Another thing the original AP was all about and removed
from part 2 is the tits, ass and violence…you heard me, us heteros that expected Kunis to remove her bra get SQUAT!…Nothing..as
for the gore, well, you wight want to look below.
So overly, If you loved AP and it's main character (Who doesn't, really!) will despice this sequel, but if you are only
a horror movie maniac who doesn't see the coolness in AP (Shame on you!), you wight have an enjoyable dish in hands.
Gore:
Well, let me think…ALMOST NONEXISTANT! You heard me, the highlight is a dude with a mop through his head (Very
dumb) and a quick glimpse of a severed head…apart from that, a hanging, condom extrangulation (??), off-screen bashing,
off-screen stabbing and a man that falls and it's not even seen…dissapointing truly. The scythe appearing in the
cover is not used, so don't get your hopes up.
Overall Rating:
I'll give this turkey a "5/10", because it CAN be enjoyable if you are a simple mortal, but for me (a Bateman
fan), it wasn't nothing to call itself American Psycho and an insult.
