Summary
*SPOILERS
While visiting a cemetary two siblings are attacked by an unknown assailant. One dies as the other runs into a nearby farmhouse. After roaming through the house a man pulls up in a truck. He knows the danger that roams the countryside so he boards up the house. Zombies attack every now and then but they fend them off. Suddenly people emerge from the basement. Immediately they start feuding. They try escaping but it doesn't work and two of them die. Zombies feast on their flesh. Then the zombies break into the house and kill all but one who locks himself in the basment where he shoots three zombies. Then morning comes and the man comes out of the basement and the zombies are gone. A group of rednecks exterminating the zombies comes across the man. They mistake him for a zombie and before he can say a work they shoot him in the head.

Review
People may have not liked the black and white in this film but it definitely works. It gives the whole movie a great atmosphere. It is one of the scariest movies of all time so beware!

Gore
Though this a black and white film this is very violent. A famous flesheating scene is disgusting in this film. The zombies are eating the flesh of a couple. This movie started up the zombie fascination with gore.

Nudity
NONE. Though we do see a zombie womans butt.

Killer
Dead rising up and coming back to life. They only want one thing...to eat human flesh. In this film the zombies are not very scary, they seem to only be mumbling idiots. They are not as scary as in later zombie films.

Characters
The only likeable character and only one worth mentioning is Ben. He is the hero and is very cool. He seems to be the smartest one of the group and strongest. He is the best hero in any zombie film.

Overall
This movie is amazing and the best zombie movie film ever! I hold this film dear to my heart. If not for this masterpiece zombie movies would not be as big as they are today.

Duane Jones .... Ben
Judith O'Dea .... Barbara
